Monday, May 18-22, 2020, 4th Period P.E.: Week 9 Workout Log

Hello Everyone,

For each day of the week, please complete three of the muscle groups listed on this workout card:


After completing your workouts, list the workouts you completed each day with type/ weight/ reps. Workout Log needs to be completed by Friday May 22, 2020 at 3:30pm.  You may also want to consider alternative workouts that I will except for a muscle group. Those activities include running at least a mile or interval sprinting, cycling for at least 30 minutes, a Yoga workout, and swimming. Whatever it is, list it in your workout log.

Monday, May 11, 2020, 4th Period P.E.: Week 8

For this week's assignment, the first thing you should do is view this cookie baking video linked here. After watching that video, please evaluate the following list of commonly baked cookies:

  1. M&M Cookies
  2. Butter Cookies 
  3. Sugar Cookies 
  4. White Chocolate Macadamia Cookies
  5. Oatmeal Raisin Cookies 
  6. Oreos 
  7. Peanut Butter Cookies 
  8. Brownies
  9. Shortbread Cookies
  10. Chocolate Chip Cookies 
  11. Molasses Cookies 
After watching the video and reviewing the list of cookies, I want you to evaluate the recipes and nutritional value of each and put the following on a google document and turn it into google classroom.

  1. Which cookie is your favorite?
  2. Which cookie is of best nutritional value to keep yourself strong in mind and body. (Explain while relating your explanation to the ingredients.   
  3. Produce a list of ingredients and recipe for baking the cookie you believe to be the most nutritional. 
Review work and turn it in to google classroom by (Friday, May 15, 2020 by 3:30 pm).

This week football and volleyball will be completing a weekly workout log posted on our Google Classroom- class code: yngdle4. For each day of the week, please complete three of the muscle groups listed on this workout card:

Monday, April 20-24, 2020, 4th Period P.E.: Week 5

Good Morning Everyone,

For this week, you will not be responsible for a workout long. This week you are going to pick a quote from an athlete that you admire. Submit the quote in on google classroom. Then take a video (no more than two minutes) of yourself reciting the quote and explaining one of the following- what you think the quote means, why you chose this quote, how it applies to how you play on the field, how others could use the quote.

  1. Pick a quote and submit quote and author to google classroom. (Wednesday, April 22, 2020 by 3:30 pm)
  2.  Take a video of yourself reciting the quote and explaining one of the following:
    1. what you think the quote means
    2. why you chose this quote
    3. how the quote applies to how you play on the field
    4. how other could use the quote to become better teammates and more successful.
  3. Upload video to google drive and share with me or email it to me at jgaylord@sra.mn (Friday, April 24, 2020 by 3:30pm)
I am looking forward to what you will choose. Please let me know if you have any questions about this assignment. Also keep in mind, that you should still be getting exercise, but we will not be turning in a workout log.

Monday, April 13-17, 2020, 4th Period P.E.: Week 4

Hello Everyone, 

April 13, 2020, we will be starting week 4 our Distant Learning. I will be posting weekly updates and workouts here: https://4thperiodpe.blogspot.com/ 

This week football and volleyball will be completing a weekly workout log posted on our Google Classroom- class code: yngdle4. For each day of the week, please complete three of the muscle groups listed on this workout card:


After completing your workouts, list the workouts you completed each day with type/ weight/ reps. Workout Log needs to be completed by April 17, 2020 at 3:30pm for Week 4. 

It is going to be imperative that you complete your work on time and ask for help via email when needed. Remember that we are all still working towards getting course credit and graduating on time. My office hours will be everyday from 10:00am-1:00pm. You are encouraged to email me questions and check into the blog during that time. 

One more note, if you do not have reliable internet access, then please inform me or the school, so that we may assist you.

Monday, April 6, 2020- Friday, April 10, 2020, 4th Period PE: Workout Log and Pull-Up Challenge

Hello Everyone, 

Tomorrow, April 6, 2020, we will be starting week 3 our Distant Learning. I will be posting weekly updates and workouts here: https://4thperiodpe.blogspot.com/ 

This week football and volleyball will be completing a weekly workout log posted on our Google Classroom- class code: yngdle4. For each day of the week, please complete three of the muscle groups listed on this workout card:


After completing your workouts, list the workouts you completed each day with type/ weight/ reps. Workout Log needs to be completed by April 10, 2020 at 3:30pm for Week 3. 

Week 3- Pull-up challenge: Athletes interested may submit a video of themselves completing as many pull-ups as they can in one set. For the pull-ups to count, the chin needs to go over the bar and on the way down arms need to be fully extended but not locked. Winner will receive two free days on next weeks workout log. Please submit videos by emailing me directly.


Also, continue to consider keeping a daily nutrition log, which you can add on your Workout Log spreadsheet.
